The Inanda Water Project, as it became known, is complete and the PROTEC Inanda Branch now has a fully functioning water reticulation system. A generous donor – Impactful Specialist Solutions – contributed R23 400 to upgrade different elements of the water system, and it is making a wonderful difference to the wellbeing of staff and beneficiaries.
Mpumezo Dungelo, Inanda Branch Manager, is both grateful and delighted. He says the work entailed replacing the water pump, basin taps and an outside tap, repairing toilet leaks, and installing a 30m water pipe from the Jojo tank to the car park to enable the tank to be filled from municipal trucks, when needed. In addition, the gutters were cleaned and branches trimmed to enable smooth flowing of rain water into the tank.
To Impactful Specialist Solutions,
After the devastating floods in April last year, the community of Ntuzuma where we operate had no water for nearly two months. We had no choice but to cancel our services to learners. The Virginia Airport Disaster Scheme then donated 40 x 5 litre containers of still water so that we could continue operating. Their help lasted for a month because we had to operate the toilets as well.
After few weeks of struggle, Impactful Specialist Solutions came on board and donated R23 400 for our water reticulation project. This has been a big relief because on completion of the project we were able to ask the municipal water truck to fill our Jojo tank. Our heartfelt thanks to ISS – we now can continue impacting lives without any water issues. If there is no water in the community, we can use the Jojo tank.
We extend our gratitude to Impactful Specialist Solutions for their humanitarian service to us.
