NE Discovery inspires learners to become engineers

NE discovery1
NE discovery2

The PROTEC and GE Next Engineers Discovery programme enables learners to engage in engineering with demonstrations and hands-on activities that introduce them to how engineers think and do things and inspire them to join the exciting world of engineering.
In the first term, the Johannesburg Discovery facilitators held sessions in selected schools around Johannesburg, including HTS Langlaagte, Missouri Laan Secondary School, Jabulani Technical High School, and Ferndale High School. In the second term, the team visited West Ridge High School, KwaBhekilanga Secondary School, Princess High School, Denver Secondary School, and Curtis Nkondo and John Orr Engineering Schools of Specialisation.
The learners were introduced to the basic principles of coding (CupCode), marine engineering (Diver), and creating a vacuum (Sticky Cups).
