Deloitte is committed to making an impact to 14 million African lives by 2030 and as part of living our purpose of making an impact to our people, clients and society, the Deloitte Executive Committee has approved a Volunteer policy that gives staff up to 40 hours per annum to volunteer at organisations in need. This is planned as an annual event to replace the previously named ‘Impact Day’ initiative – the change in emphasis is from physical tasks (e.g. painting schools, covering text books) to using our professional skills to make a lasting impact to organisations and individuals in need.
To kick off our refreshed focus on volunteerism, Deloitte planned a full working day (8 hours) out of the office for all staff to work with organisations in need, to make a measurable impact that matters in the geographies that we work. This is part of the sustainable future for Deloitte:
