The PROTEC Difference

PROTEC Branches & Projects have much to celebrate this week on the back of the 2017 matric results. Our PROTEC learners have done us proud & the PROTEC benchmark has just been set higher to new levels for 2018.

PROTEC BRANCH PERFORMANCE
All 9 PROTEC Branches once again achieved 100% pass and a bachelor pass rate of 89,5% (versus the NSC bachelor pass of only 28,7%) These results exceed the IEB (private schools) pass rate of 98,76% and 88,5% respectively. Our 238 learners from the branches who wrote matric achieved a total of 426 distinctions.

PROTEC PROJECT PERFORMANCE PROTEC
Projects surpassed their 2016 performance by 10% with a pass rate of 99,5% and most notably, the bachelor pass rate increased by 40,5% to a record high of 78,10%

STAR PERFORMERS
Tongaat Branch in KZN and PROTEC’s Rustenburg project each achieved a 100% bachelor pass rate which means that every single learner can further their education at university level if given the opportunity.

Congratulations to our top matric learner in Physical Science, KWASA MAKHANYA who achieved 100% for Physical Science & was the top Physics student in the Illembe district. He also obtained distinctions for Maths, English, Life Science & LO and has been awarded a bursary to study Astrophysics this year.

Congratulations to NKANYISO MHLONGO from PROTEC Mandeni branch who achieved 7 distinctions and was placed 3rd in the Illembe district. He attended an awards ceremony at the ICC and was presented with a laptop and a Certificate of Merit by the KZN Minister of Education and the Premier of KZN. Nkanyiso plans to study Medicine in 2018.
